We had talked about planning a trip as a Relief Society group to the Lindon Wet Pack Cannery this month so I wanted to give everyone an update about those plans. This is, unfortunately, not going to be a possibility in that the cannery no longer accepts group reservations; they now accept individual reservations only. It is also "harvest season" (they are busy canning peaches and other fruits and vegetables for the Bishop Storehouses) right now, so they are not accepting any reservations until the first part of November. However, they are planning on canning homemade chili the first part of November! I thought that sounded like a yummy addition to any food storage inventory out there, not to mention the fact that it will probably be pennies on the dollar compared to what you may pay in the store.
According to the instructions they gave me, in order to make reservations to go to the wet pack cannery you need to contact them by phone, they will ask for your email address, and they will then contact you via email to make reservations. I asked if it would be ok if I gathered everyone's email address and forward them to the people at the cannery, and they said that would be ok. If you think this may be something you might be interested in within the next few months, please feel free to contact me on here or via email- this is Diana by the way, my email address is hidiana@hotmail.com- and I will forward them everyone's email address and we can go from there, or, if you would prefer to call them and give them your address directly, their phone # is 801.785.0998.
Perhaps we can still carpool there together if a few of us end up going on the same day. :)

Thank you
Dear Sisters,
Sincere thanks to all of you for your kind acts of service. It is humbling to witness your willingness to help those who are in need. You have been called upon often in the past few months and you have consistently gone above and beyond what was asked.
In a recent Conference address, Brother Holland states:
Bless you!!

In a recent Conference address, Brother Holland states:
"I have spoken . . . of heavenly help, of angels dispatched to bless us in time of need. But when we speak of those who are instruments in the hand of God, we are reminded that not all angels are from the other side of the veil. Some of them we walk with and talk with—here, now, every day. Some of them reside in our own neighborhoods. Some of them gave birth to us, and in my case, one of them consented to marry me. Indeed heaven never seems closer than when we see the love of God manifested in the kindness and devotion of people so good and so pure that angelic is the only word that comes to mind."
You are angels. We pray that the Lord's choicest blessings will be poured down upon you and upon your families for your service.
Bless you!!

Dry Pack Cannery Night Change
The night that we have reserved to go to the dry pack cannery has been changed because it conflicts with the night of the Cub Scout pack meetings. It is now going to be the SECOND TUESDAY of every month. (if it helps to remember it, think of it as two Tuesday... ha!)

Activities to look forward to...

Hi all! Summer is finally here! For awhile there, I'm sure we were all wondering if it was going to be cancelled this year. We understand summer is a busy time for everyone, but here are a few things to look forward to:
We are going to start having a regular Cannery Night. It will be
the third Thursday of every month @ 7:00 p.m. Even if you can
only spare $20.00 a month, it's still $20.00 more than what you had before.... and at the cannery it all adds up fast! So please, even if it is just a small order, come and join us!
We are also working on a trip to the "Wet Pack Cannery" in Lindon in September. It would be fun for everyone to travel there together, so put it on your calendars and start saving your pennies now. We will let you know more info as we get closer.
